Academics

We live in a competitive global economy. We base our curriculum on NYC Public Schools learning standards to prepare our students to meet these demands.

With a 98.7% graduation rate, we pride ourselves in offering students at the Bronx Leadership Academy courses that not only prepare them for life after high school but that also pique their interest in academic pursuits. Our students may enroll in world languages, AP courses, a business career pathway, and college preparatory courses.

College Preparatory Courses

Our college preparatory courses include advanced math, science, and language courses. We also offer a variety of advanced placement courses that build upon our AP Seminar class. This foundational course engages students in cross-curricular conversations about investigating real-world topics from a variety of perspectives. This class encourages students to research and synthesize information from multiple sources, analyze text, and work collaboratively. The successful completion of this course opens the door to other AP opportunities such as the following:

Future Ready NYC

We are pleased to participate in NYC School’s FutureReady program preparing students for career success. Through this program, students explore a range of careers, develop digital and financial literacy skills, and receive real-world work experience. In some circumstances, students may also earn college credit or industry certifications.

At BLA, students participate in the Business and Finance career pathway. This pathway prepares students for business management and/or becoming a marketing analyst.
